Tzu Chi Yeh born in 1957 in Hualien, Taiwan, he graduated with a Master of Fine Arts in Brooklyn College of City University of New York in 1989. After living in New York for nineteen years, he returned to Hualien in 2006 and settled there. His works have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions both domestically and internationally and are widely collected by art institutions and private collectors.
From the hidden depths of memory, the Monologue series gently surfaces, weaving faint whispers between departure and longing, and unfolding a dreamlike landscape where time, and the soul’s inner vistas softly entwine. In an era when image-recording devices are ubiquitous, realistic painting has transcended its simple function of reproduction and representation, integrating rich artistic meaning. For Tzu Chi Yeh, creating in a slow and solitary manner, steadfastly and persistently completing each piece, has undoubtedly become an important ritual in his life. This continuous creative process not only involves reflection, remembrance, and introspection of the past but also contains imagination and hopes for the future. The flowers, green mountains and white clouds, fluttering flags, and other subjects in his works have become fleeting landscapes in memory, carrying profound personal significance.
